Born from the grand experiment of Prohibition, Rumrunning impacted the entire nation during the early 20th century. With its proximity to New York City, Suffolk County was one of the places that witnessed the struggle between federal agents and the liquor smugglers. The book Rumrunning in Suffolk County explores local rumrunning through documented accounts found in local newspapers.
